ARTIST STATEMENT

Olga Feshina, "I make research on how digital technologies change human behavior, consciousness, and perception of reality and have an impact on the psychological development of humans today. I investigate how humanity is obsessed with tech gadgets and explore their frozen gestures and poses. These days, when computer programs mimic an artist's technique, I stylized bodies and summarized facial features, emphasizing a wide, frozen smile and enchanted eyes that mimic the digital style in my analog works. Nevertheless, I create my paintings with hands - from sketches to final stroke of brush. I make it special to show all an absurd of the situation, what matters. After all, I digitize my paintings that mimic the computer technic and create new digital animated works closing the transformation chain, that vivified by computer programs."

INNER CHILD

NFT - digital graphics, animation, video

“I have always been attracted to creating digital art, whether it is a photo, video, or computer graphics. For the last 5 years, I have been focusing on analog paintings only, developing the New Tech Girls series, where I translate how humanity is obsessed with tech gadgets and explores their frozen gestures and poses in relation to these gadgets. Now with NFT, I continue makes research how technologies have an impact on psychological development and change our behavior, consciousness, and perception of reality. My baby deer wearing VR headsets symbolizes our inner child mesmerized by infinite desires, passions, and possibilities of the digital world and virtual reality, which sometimes forget about who is he and what is his destination in the reality.”

NEW TECH GIRLS

Paintings

“I'm an artist fascinated with new technologies and gadgets. The characters of my paintings are either contemporary girls or young women, who grow up actively and comprehend their inner and external worlds by means of gadgets and technological innovations. They made selfies revolution in social net, exploring contemporary tech reality, and their new poses and gestures are getting contemporary classics.

I'm trying to track the temporary connection portraying the same nymphs with their new poses and gestures in they new personification or reincarnation and research how they are deeply involved in technological innovation.  They are posting their copies online, copying selfpresentation, exploring life and self through technolgy. The inner child of new girls which baby deer symbolizes it for me is mesmerized with the perfection of the digital and virtual world. I am interested why the new tech girls explore their self and feminine gist with technologies and virtual reality.”

– Olga Feshina said,

“Nowadays, when computer programs imitate artist technique, I stylize bodies and generalize facial features emphasizing a wide frozen smile and entranced eyes imitating digital pics. However, there is nothing digital in my paintings of New Tech Girls series, other than only a digital topic."
